I'm toying with the idea of writing a semi-regular advice column on grad school in this space. The rules would be the same as with any standard advice column: you're guaranteed confidentiality but not a response; the column would appear once a week (or less frequently, depending on the volume of letters); I might share your letter with a guest expert or two after omitting all personalizing details; and I make no guarantees about the validity or "expertise" of my own advice. (However, I've had a lot of friends asking me for various types of grad school advice lately, so I figured I'd give it a whirl.)
