For all those who remember way back when I did this -- I was vindicated tonight. Markos himself says so.

I'll update with video of the speech for those who missed it, as soon as it's available.

[Update] Schweitzer improvised the last five minutes of the speech, including the part about the "petro-dictators" and the best line of the night, "The petro-dictators will never own American wind and sunshine." The guy is friggin' amazing.

[Update II} Here's the video:

And a shout-out to Hillary Clinton and Deval Patrick as well, both of whom gave excellent speeches. Eight years from now, Schweitzer and Patrick are going to be the best progressive voices we have to go up against the likes of Warner and Bayh.

I'm not sure I'd use Markos as a reliable source for anything but self-aggrandization, tbh.

That being said, I do feel bad for the guy this week. He keeps trying to foist signed hardcover copies of his book on all the bloggers here this week, and everyone's like "uh...yeah...thanks..."

He's not a "reliable source," but he is occasionally right, and I have to admit to being a fan of his writing style. He certainly doesn't lack for criticism around here, given that I left his site over a year ago after a rancorous argument with two of his front-pagers.

And I didn't realize you were live-blogging from the convention! Cue new post to alert readers...
