Just watched Obama's speech: I wasn't excited by the early sections -- I know what he was doing, and he did it well enough, but it's not my kind of politics -- but once he got warmed up I thought he did a nice job once he got going on McCain and on defining his presidency.
Any plans for Labor Day weekend? We're actually going to a cookout....

By the way, this McCain interview makes me think of Bob Dole and Al Gore: fundamentally solid politicians tied up in knots by their campaigns, driving out all charm and intelligence. Consulted to death, possessed by overweening ambition.

I actually missed it because I was out with friends. I'll probably watch it tomorrow if I can find it online (along with the Gore speech, which I also missed).
I'm going to the Indianapolis Children's Museum with friends on Monday. Not my idea, but not a bad idea at that -- it's a fun place. Cookout sounds fun -- making friends and influencing people already at your new digs, eh?
Sadly, this is not real:
Hat tip Scott McLemee.
