This latest primary has all but ended the Presidential aspirations of the candidate who finished a distant third. This man looked great on paper; his nearly ten years of political experience only complemented a career of nearly stratospheric heroism. He was so popular that a blockbuster movie about his heroic actions was made and aired during the presidential campaign. And yet somehow, his disorganized campaign mismanaged itself so badly that he was not even able to compete successfully in the state on which he had staked his electoral hopes. He's turned out to be merely a paper tiger, an authentic American hero whom people simply don't want as their President.

Yep, folks, it must be hard to be John Glenn right now.

You know, I honestly couldn't have told you that Glenn ran, but I spent most of '84 out of the country....

Rudy Giuliani is no John Glenn. Never was, never will be.

Fair enough -- but the people who thought running America's Mayor was a surefire ticket to the Presidency are the same people who thought an astronaut would be unstoppable.
