After going for nearly four months without a true community blog (since this site shut down its community interface), the history blogosphere has now got another bona fide community site. Joe Gabriel and our own James Livingston have turned Politics and Letters into a site where anyone can post full-length diary content about history, politics, or like subjects. The software they're using is the same as we used to have, though I'll note that the offsite backup now being offered by SoapBlox has probably eliminated the problems that made our transition away from that software so difficult. Anyhow, I'm thrilled with this new development and urge all of you to head on over to Joe and Jim's new site and set up accounts.

Check out this fabulous diary on Paul Robeson by a former ProgressiveHistorians diarist, JekyllnHyde.

Our blogfriend, Josh Trevino, is quoted extensively in a Wall Street Journal article on the relationship between Turkey and the Orthodox Church.

Finally, for those who have been following our site traffic woes, I finally got around to contacting those with outdated links to PH and asking them to change their links to our current address. As a result, our traffic has jumped over 50% during the past couple of weeks.

What's on your mind?

Thanks for the plug. Everyone is more than welcome to come on over to Politics and Letters and post diaries. We are still in the early stages of transitioning into a community blog so the more the merrier!
