With Barack Obama likely to clinch the Democratic nomination tonight, Ed Blum offers up a prayer of unity for the Democratic Party. It's worth a read, though I don't necessarily agree with his and Obama's message of unity (and never have).
A must-read: popular historian Adam Hochschild's article on the value of non-scholarly history. Another one of those articles I wish I'd written. Hat tip.
Have a look at Rick Shenkman's attack on Howard Zinn. It's thought-provoking, though I generally find I disagree with both of them.
What's on your mind?
[Update] Great article by Paul Rosenberg on his mother's involvement with the Helen Gahagan Douglas campaign in the 1950's.
